Leona Lewis - Footprints In The Sand lyricsYou walked with me Footprints in the sand And helped me understand Where I’m going You walked with me When I was all alone With so much unknown Along the way And just when I I thought I’d lost my way You gave me strength to carry on That’s when I heard you say I promise you I’m always there When your heart is filled with sorrow And despair And I’ll carry you When you need a friend You’ll find my footprints in the sand When I’m weary Well I know you’ll be there Cause I can feel you When you say I promise you I’m always there When your heart is filled with sadness and despair Oh, I’ll carry you When you need a friend You’ll find my footprints in the sand [choir] When your heart is full of sadness and despair I’ll carry you When you need a friend I promise you I’m always there When you need a friend You’ll find my footprints In the sand *** Leona Lewis - Footprints In The Sand Song Info “Footprints in the Sand” is a pop ballad written by Richard Page, Per Magnusson, David Kreuger and Simon Cowell and produced by Steve Mac for Leona Lewis’s debut album, Spirit. It was released in March 2008 as Lewis’s third single, as a double A-side with “Better in Time“. “Footprints in the Sand” is based on the poem “Footprints” and has been described by Chris Elwell-Sutton of the Evening Standard as a “string-fuelled, gospel-tinged power ballad that would make a good theme to a Disney movie.” Lewis herself says “it is very moving, with a very emotional lyric”. The song is about “standing by someone and being there for people who need your help.” The song is the official song of charity Sport Relief for 2008. The music video for “Footprints in the Sand” was directed in London by acclaimed British director Sophie Muller back-to-back with the video for “Better in Time”. The video is cut with footage of Lewis’s visit to Africa for Sport Relief, and it premiered on her official website on 27 February 2008. |
